Betty  ClementsProfessor, Speech

Betty Clements prefers to teach in a traditional classroom, as she likes the element of immediate interaction and loves the nonverbal communication that is shared. She has also taught online courses for over 10 years.

As an undergraduate, she was inspired to teach Speech Communication by one of her instructors, who served as her mentor and encouraged her to pursue graduate studies. She uses relative activities, including games, to help students learn and maintain interest in class.

Her hobbies include: decorating, event-planning, playing and/or watching basketball, fishing, traveling, and cooking. Causes that she is passionate about include: homelessness and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
