Now more than ever, administrative assistants, office support, and computer support personnel play an integral role in the success of an organization. They are highly valued and collaborative team members with a wide range of skills enabling them to work in a variety of industries.
At Midland College, our students develop competencies in office procedures, software applications, accounting skills, organizational skills, office management, project management, and the essential workplace soft skills employers’ demand.
At Midland College (MC), the Office Systems Technology program curriculum is designed as an advanced level program to prepare students for office support and computer support positions in an office environment.
Students will use state-of-the-art technology to develop the skills necessary to become a productive member of the business community. Topics of study include office management, human relations, records management, oral and written business communications, plus word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, and telecommunication applications.
This degree provides training in current technology and skills for adapting to a variety of changing business conditions helping students develop skills for working in accounting, business offices, and everyday interaction.

Demand
According to the Texas Workforce Commission, employment is projected to grow 11% from 2018 to 2028. More support services will be needed as organizations upgrade their computer equipment and software.
