Anthropology
The anthropology program provides students with a foundation of general education and core courses that are enriched with anthropological topics, perspective and focus. This program of study prepares students to successfully pursue their professional and personal endeavors in an increasingly globalized world.
Courses in the Anthropology program provide a strong academic foundation for students who intend to transfer to a four-year institution of higher education to continue studying Anthropology and its four subfields which include cultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, and physical anthropology.
Area universities that offer a degree in one or more of these fields include: North
Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, the University of Texas, and the University
of Texas at San Antonio.

- ANTH 2302 - Introduction to Archaeology
Study the human past through material remains and learn about the methods and theories relevant to archaeological inquiry. - ANTH 2351 - Cultural Anthropology
Study human culture through a historical perspective and examine the development of culture and compare to present cultures. - ANTH 2301 - Physical Anthropology (Lecture)
Study human origins and bio-cultural adaptations. Learn about scientific theories regarding the development of early hominines and the genus Homo. - ANTH 2346 - General Anthropology
Study human beings, their antecedents, related primates, and their cultural behavior and institutions.
