Radiologic Technology

If you are looking for a health care career that works with the latest advances in medical care where you will be a vital part of the patient care team, radiologic technology is a good choice.
Radiologic technologists perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients. They are responsible for preparing patients for procedures, adjusting and maintaining equipment and working with physicians to obtain the best images to evaluate the patient properly.
Midland College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology. The program will prepare students for a rewarding career in a health care setting where they help advanced clinicians diagnose medical problems by providing optimal images. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national certification examination offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Classes include didactic, laboratory and clinical components and meet at the F. Marie Hall Outpatient Center located at 4214 Andrews Highway, Midland, Texas.
Class space is limited to fifteen students each fall semester. The admission process is highly competitive, and not all applicants will be admitted to the program.

Yes, for the time being. Program accreditation is a multi-year process. The curriculum has been designed per ARRT, ASRT, and JRCERT guidelines so that we can seek accreditation. Midland College is accredited by SACSOC. Students who graduate are eligible to sit for the national exam and become a licensed radiographer upon passing the exam.
It is not recommended that you work while in the radiography program. A full-time job is not feasible. However, you may be able to work if you have a very flexible part-time position.
