Westfall’s high school and college teachers inspired him to become a teacher. Accounting is his primary teaching area, but has enjoyed teaching a variety of business subjects over the past 48 years. He is interested in his students and once they know that, they get more interested in the class. He tries to engage each student everyday by asking them to read a problem or answer a question.

He is fascinated by the Dia de los Muertos tradition; he has several calacas, colorful calaveras, and ofrendas in his house. He finds comfort having remembrances of his dead friends and relatives throughout his home. #1 on his bucket list is to travel to cities in the United States that he has never visited.
