How Estimated Costs of Attendance Affect Financial Aid
The Cost of Attendance (COA) figures in the chart above provide an estimate of what it costs to attend Midland College for a nine-month academic year. Your expenses may vary, but the standard amounts allowed for each COA component provided on this page are used to determine financial aid eligibility. Each financial aid applicant is assigned a COA according to how the student fits into the classifications in the chart.
Cost of attendance budgets are prorated based on enrollment status.
- Full Time (12+ hours) - 100%
- Three-Quarter Time (9-11 hours) - 75%
- Half Time (6-8 hours) - 50%
- Less-than-half Time (1-5 hours) - 25%
The Financial Aid Office must make sure that the combined total of federal, state or institutional financial aid awarded does not exceed the student’s COA. Midland College’s Cost of Attendance budgets are revised and recorded annually with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Net Price Calculator
The Net Price Calculator was designed to give an estimate of financial aid through a series of about 10 to 15 questions similar to those listed on your FAFSA. It does NOT replace the need for students to complete the FAFSA.
